CCDTR investigators were recognized for their work at the Society of General Internal Medicine Midwest Regional Meeting in Cleveland today. Neda Laiteerapong received the Award for Excellence in Clinician Investigation, and her presentation on “The Legacy Effect of Early Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetes on Future Diabetes Complications: The Diabetes and Aging Study” was named the best scientific abstract oral presentation.
UChicago medical student Ivana Barouhas presented on the Implementing Diabetes Group Visits in Community Health Centers project led by Arshiya Baig in collaboration with Midwest Clinicians’ Network. Her poster, “Assessing the Effectiveness of a Training Intervention on Community Health Center Staff’s Ability to Implement Diabetes Group Visits,” was awarded 3rd place in the scientific abstract poster presentation category.
