Picture Good Health and South Side Diabetes Projects Featured in UCM’s 2013 Community Benefit Report

November 3, 2014 – The Community Benefit Report for University of Chicago Medicine’s 2013 fiscal year was just released. CCDTR investigator Dr. Arshiya Baig and her Picture Good Health / Imagínate Una Buena Salud program were highlighted on pages six and seven of the report. The Picture Good Health program provides church-based diabetes education to Latinos with diabetes in the South Lawndale / Little Village neighborhood of Chicago.

CCDTR investigators Drs. Monica Peek and Marshall Chin and their South Side Diabetes Project were also highlighted on page six of the report. The South Side Diabetes Project provides diabetes education to African Americans in the south side of Chicago.

The report includes comments from Dr. Baig, who serves as principal investigator of the Picture Good Health study, and from former project manager Nora Geary of the South Side Diabetes project.
