DePaul University

The Picture Good Health Team will join Taller de José, their partnering social service agency in Little Village, in leading a workshop at the 2014 Health Disparities and Social Justice Conference. The focus of the conference this year is Latino health. Taller de José will be presenting their model of accompaniment and will describe how it is similar to but potentially a more holistic approach than the patient navigator model to reducing health disparities. Amanda Benitez, project manager of Dr. Arshiya Baig’s Picture Good Health program and the Local Patients, Local Stories provider training program, will discuss our Center’s partnership with Taller de José in addressing diabetes disparities among Latinos in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago through these two programs.
