South Side Diabetes Team Participates in Project Hood’s 5K Walk and 10K Run

June 15, 2013 – The Improving Diabetes Care and Outcomes On the South Side of Chicago team realizes the importance of being healthy and being safe in their own communities. They know that it is important for people to take an active role in improving their health by fostering healthier lifestyle choices such as regular exercise. That’s why the team partnered with Pastor Corey Brooks and his 1st Annual Project HOOD Safe and Healthy 5K Walk and 10K Run on Saturday, June 15th, 2013. Chicago is a runner’s city and in conjunction with the City of Chicago and many other community organizations, this was a great event that educated the community as it relates to becoming healthy and increased the awareness of the need for peace and safety in our communities.
